Mature Driver Session

It’s never too late to increase our knowledge and driving is no exception. To this end the Road Skills UK is an driving assessments and refresher driving courses refresher courses to residents Fareham, Gosport, Lee on the Solent, Warsash and surrounding areas.

Courses: One half-day theory session plus one hour of practical on road driving (optional)
Suitable for:
People who may wish to update / improve their driving skills:

People who may not have driven for some time and need to regain confidence.
People who wish to have their driving assessed.

Aim:

To encourage good road safety awareness, to reinforce knowledge of road hazards and attitudes to driving and to give confidence in areas of uncertainty.
Driving assessment: One hour driving assessment to evaluate your driving
Half-day session consists of:
Presentation – promoting driver awareness given by highly trained Registered Fleet Trainers.
Opportunity to drive with approved Fleet Trainer / Approved driving instructor.

Licence Renewal at age 70
Your driving licence entitlement will expire when you reach the age of 70 and if you want to continue to drive, the entitlement will need to be renewed by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). Your renewed licence will normally be valid for three years.
DVLA will send you, 90 days before your 70th birthday, a D46P (application for renewal of a driving licence).

You’ll need to:

Complete the D46P form.
Send it to DVLA, Swansea SA99 1AA
Return your photocard driving licence and counterpart
A message on your D46P form will let you know if your photo is due for renewal and you’ll need to include a new passport type photo.
You’ll also need to enclose original identity documentation if your name has changed since your last licence was issued.
